Meall nan Tarmachan Race Report & Results
Oct 08, 2017

Despite the pessimism of every forecast I looked at, the race was run in mostly sunny conditions, with all the tops clear. A bit windy, and wetter underfoot than recent years, but a pleasant surprise all the same. Ochil's Alasdair Anthony and Lochtayside's Stephen Rawlinson battled it out at the front. A bit of local knowledge saw Stephen overhaul Alasdair on the descent, only to be overtaken again on the fast paced track to the finish. If there had been a team prize Anster Haddies would have dominated, taking the next 4 places thanks to Tom and Mark Harris and Thomas and Jonny Knox. They did manage to take home a good proportion of the prize beer anyway. A good spread of the generations there as well. First female was Jennifer Gane. Thanks to everyone who ran and everyone who helped. We made just over £400 to split between the National Trust for Scotland for their conservation work on Ben Lawers NNR and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, who did a great job, as always, providing safety cover.
