It has been brought to our attention that there was an instance of non-consensual physical contact made between two participants during Saturday’s championship race at Stuc a’ Chroin.
The SHR Committee want to stress that this behaviour is not acceptable in any shape or form and there should be no physical contact made between runners whether inadvertent, innocent, or otherwise. Unless express consent is given by the individual to provide physical assistance to a fellow competitor, i.e., in the event of injury or for safety reasons, then no contact should made between runners. Any further instances of this nature may be subject to disciplinary proceedings by the SHR Committee which may result in the individual being suspended or banned from further competition. The matter may also be reported to Police Scotland. We hope that none of this course of action will be necessary given the fantastic reputation of our sport but would reiterate that inappropriate behaviour will not be condoned.
