Isle of Jura Fell Race
This year's Isle of Jura Fell Race saw wins for Luke Fisher and Naomi Lang (both Carnethy), with Naomi finishing an impressive 15th overall and beating Jasmin Paris' 2015 record (3:38:43) by 41 seconds. Carnethy also took 1st and 3rd prize in both the male and female team categories, with Ambleside AC taking silver in both categories. Other notable performances came from Ian Holmes (Bingley Harriers AC) who brought the MV60 record under 4 hours for the first time (3:56:32), and Fred Davies (QPAC, 24th overall) who posted a sub-20 split along the final road section. Wendy Dodds (FRCC) and Kirsty Bryan-Jones (Dark Peak FR) completed their 15th race, and Emily McNicol (Carnethy) won the John Dare Shield for completing both the Scottish Island Peaks Race (fastest mixed pair with Harry Pulham) and the Isle of Jura Fell Race (4th FSEN) on consecutive weekends. The John Hewitt Cup went to first-timer and Jura local Tabby Fletcher (FU23, Jura AC).
Jenn and Tom would like to extend their thanks to everyone who has supported them as organisers over the last 4 years as they pass the baton on to fellow Westerlands CCC runners Andrew Fulwood and Dave Rogers.
