As forecast, it was a very wet and cold autumn day for this year's Meall a Bhuachaille race. This, together with many flooded roads in the north and east of the country making for very difficult travelling conditions inevitably had an impact on race numbers. In the event, 77 hardy souls lined up at the start of a lower level, poor weather alternative course that ascended Craiggowrie hill before descending back into the trees and continuing along undulatory forestry and mtb tracks to the finish. The revised route seemed largely popular with runners and there was a good, positive atmosphere throughout. Douglas Bartholomew and Katherine Klunder were the respective Open and Female winners. Many thanks to the hill marshals and support team on the day, as well as staff from Forestry Land Scotland and the Badaguish centre, who all helped make the event possible.
