We had a beautiful sunny evening for the Balmedie Beach Race but with a fairly strong breeze. The route had to be changed significantly this year as the northern dune area is sadly being swallowed up in a new golf course. The first half is mainly trail running along small paths but the second half has some big climbs up and down the dunes. 1st home was Jonathon Gamble from Insch Trail Runners in 23.51 (winning for the second year in a row) and 1st female was Kelly Vine-Jones (unattached) in 30.08. Well done to all the runners and thanks to Aberdeenshire Council for giving permission to hold the race and to all the helpers for timing, cane collecting etc.
