The day was fairly hot when the clouds rolled in and pretty roasting when they moved away. There was the merest breeze but nothing that would provide much cooling.
The course was unchanged from 2024 and the conditions were actually very similar.
Robert Sparks and Ruan VanRensburg from Fife AC were together for most of the arace but Robert managed to ease away and win by a minute in the end. Ruan smashed his time from last year by 2 mins 41 seconds and improved from 5th to second place.
Ben Hukins from PH Racing kept the Fife boys honest and finished just over 2 mins behind Ruan. The evergreen Eric Duncan from Highland Hill Runners was 4th overall and first in his age category.
Alison McGill from Kinross Road runners was 9th overall and first woman home in a strong time of 52:17, this was 2 mins 28 quicker than her time last year, indeed her winning time this year was also better than the first woman last year. Alison was followed home by Louisa Brown from Garscube Harriers and Fiona Horsfield from Kinross Road Runners was third.
