Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay 2025 Report
It was a race of firsts at the Comrie relays this year, with Shettleston winning the Open race for the first time, Westies winning the women's race for the first time, a Women's team course record and individual leg records on legs 1 and 2 (Ellen Downs, Westies and Cat Peutherer, Shettleston respectively) and the first junior, Strathearn's Calum McBean, taking a leg win on Leg 2.
Strathearn took the Mixed team category with Shettleston also winning the V40M and HBT claiming the V40F category
Leg winners were:
Leg 1: Joe Symonds, Shettleston and Ellen Downs, Westerlands
Leg 2: Calum McBean, Strathearn and Cat Peutherer, Shettleston
Leg 3: Kieran Cooper, Carnethy and Ella Peters, Westerlands
Leg 4: Dan Dry and Jennifer Clark, both Shettleston
There was also a well attended junior race with 31 juniors from 5 clubs across the three age categories. Category wins for Euan Grant Pantrey, Shettleston, Lucy Ward, HBT/Lasswade in the U18s, and Harris Turnbull & Robin Perez-Reid and Finlay McInally & Charlotte Meyer (all Strathearn) in the U13 and U9 categories respectively.
