A new route for this year's race, with one familiar, steep climb reclaimed, up to the Fort.  The rain stopping just in time for the race.  Conditions still nice and muddy underfoot however.

 

Robin Regan U23 (Inverness Harriers) had a very strong run to take the win overall in 39:27

Huw Oliver (Lochaber) took 2nd place and Andrew Gilmore (Highland Hill Runners) 3rd place overall in the Open Category.

 

Stuart Pringle (Deeside) was the first in the V40 category also claiming 4th place overall.

 

Michael Holt (Ross County) and Ian Meek (Highland Hill Runners) were V50 and V60 winners respectively.

 

In the ladies race, Ruth Barnfield (Highland Hill Runners) won in a time of 50:55.  Caroline Marwick also of Highland Hill Runners claimed 2nd place and also first V40. Rachel Watson (Highland Hill Runners) came home in 3rd place.

 

Marie Entwistle (Deeside) was first V50.

 

A big thank you to all the marshals and helpers, without them the race wouldn't take place.  Also to the landowners for giving permission for the race to go ahead.
