Upcoming Adult Beginner Orienteering Courses
Feb 20, 2026
The Scottish Orienteering Association are organising coaching days for adults who are looking to improve their navigation and map reading skills. Whilst these courses will be using the specific type of map used in orienteering, the skills that will be gained transfer directly to the needs of hill racers and runners as well as casual hill walkers. The courses will all follow a similar progression - starting with the basics and moving throughout the day onto harder navigational techniques. Our well experienced coaches will provide you with plenty of opportunities to practice the techniques and ask questions. By the end of the day you should have the skills and the confidence to be able to successfully navigate your way around a course. Places are limited to ensure a good coach to participant ratio, so get signed up soon and don't forget to encourage a friend along with you!

Please get in touch with louise@scottish-orienteering.org if you have any queries.
