Notes |
The organisers of the Isle of Jura Fell Race are streamlining the entry requirements for the 2024 race which will take place on 25 May 2024.
Entries will open in January 2024 and to pass the vetting process runners will need to demonstrate evidence of either:
- A Jura Fell Race completion in the last 5 years; OR
- 2 AL races in the last 3 years (as defined by Scottish Hill Runners and the Fell Runners Association) OR
- One AL race AND either a category A or above Mountain Marathon or 2 AM races, all to have been completed with the last three years
This is to ensure Jura is in line with other similar races, that the vetting process is clear and transparent and to ensure that all competitors are equipped for the distinctive characteristics of the race. It is not intended to make entry to the race harder. Any prospective competitors lacking an AL completion should note that Two Breweries is open for entries.
In addition, previously entrants who had completed 8 or more previous Isle of Jura Fell Races were awarded automatic entry. In 2023, this accounted for almost a fifth of entries offered in the first batch of 250 invites. Only those with 15 or more races under their belt will be awarded entry automatically for 2024
